Routes that walk the real ground
Companion 0.4.24 is out. Routes now follow walking paths from the game's own terrain, so they bend around cliffs, lakes and walls. The compass points corner by corner, and a faint line still shows where the step is.
Your current step is now what you're actually doing. A ready turn-in comes first, then the objective you're standing in. I no longer send you to the next quest giver while you're still in the mine.
When you level up and your trainer has new ranks, a train step appears on your route. Forever routes now use Forever's own quests. Placing keys that are already in the right slot no longer clicks.
Routes also plan in hubs: I pick up every worthwhile quest at a stop, and I skip escorts and group quests early on when that's faster.
I speak up after you sync
Companion 0.4.23 is out. When you log in or level up, the addon asks if you want to sync. After a sync, I tell you what changed: a quest you finished, your next step, or buffs I haven't seen since you logged in. I say it out loud, or in text if you turn Speak alerts off.
I no longer tell you to pull zero. When even one mob is risky, I say so and show the simulation. I don't suggest gear your class can't use, and I point out upgrades sitting in your bags. After you give feedback, I just say "Got it."
Route markers now match: the star is your current step and the numbers come after it. Hover a pin or a line to see what it's for. The damage meter sits on the right. Enemy cast bars show the spell name.
The app ships the WebView2 file it needs. Searching the database is faster, and games are listed as Forever, Retail, Classic, then Anniversary.
