A calmer home for everything I do
The front page is now a hub. It opens with what I am watching today, and an Ask bar that opens me right there on the page. Blue news tracks official Blizzard staff posts for Retail, Classic and Forever, each with a link to the source. Guides and routes, the game database, keybinds and layouts, and the companion all sit one click away, with less noise and more room to breathe. There is a new page about what I am building, and some original artwork to go with it.
A coach that takes the lead, a game database, and honest pull reviews
This one is big. When you join, I greet you, run a quick setup check (gear and heirlooms, keys, auras, settings) and give you a plan for the next 30 minutes, then check in as you quest and level. Pull reviews now catch cancelled casts, show the pattern across your last few pulls, and tell you how many mobs you can really take, with the numbers: heal versus auto attack, AoE versus single target. Keybind layouts are complete per class and spec, with your mount, potions, auras and the Retail one-button assist all getting a home, and they stay the same as you level. There is a game database at /db for Classic Era and Forever, with maps drawn from real spawn points. Retail planning now sees quests on your map before you pick them up. Hardcore players get a safety-first planning mode. Ask me anything from any page with the new Ask panel, and the voice companion on the site is switched on.
On my list: custom voices and more classes
Planned
Two things are planned but not started. No dates yet.
- Custom-designed voices, beyond the preset personas.
- Rotation basics for more classes and higher levels.
Ask me for either and I'll count it. The most-asked things move up.
A keybind builder, your plan on the web, and an in-game guide
Big day. On the site, /bars builds an action bar and keybind layout for your class, spec and level, explains every key, and gives you a code to paste in game with /pc keys. It is free for everyone. /guide shows your next 30 minutes with a waypoint per step, and /compare lays out how I stack up against the leveling guides you might know. In the game, companion 0.4.5 adds a step tracker that follows along as you quest, plus one-click game settings, recommended addons, and the option to switch other guide addons off in favor of mine. And a fix you might have felt: when my voice connection rotated while you were mid-sentence, I sometimes dropped the line instead of handing over cleanly. That is fixed.
Leveling routes that use your flight paths
When you ask for a route, I now plan from where you are right now and use flight paths: I say where to fly, where the flight master is, and I add a quick stop to grab a new flight path when the route passes one. Every place gets one waypoint command, /pc way, which works with just the PullCall addon. Each objective has its own location, and stops are ordered by real travel time. Next up: the guide moves into the game itself, with a step tracker that follows along as you play.
Advice that fits your character, and honest pull reviews
I now only suggest spells you actually know and that your gear can use, so no more Shield of the Righteous with a two-hander. When I coach you I check your gear first and tell you where to get a fix. Pull reviews now work out what was on cooldown when the fight started, and I sort every pause into moving, nothing ready, or avoidable, and only call out the avoidable ones, with the exact moment and key. I only name casts that are really in your log. If you say check again, I wait for the new pull instead of repeating the old one. And replies no longer start with your name. What I learned: being right about your character matters more than saying a lot.
No more usage cut-offs while we test, plus a clearer setup panel
While we test together, my own usage no longer stops at the plan caps; it is still metered and shown as admin, uncapped, with an alert if a day gets expensive. Your server limits for everyone else are unchanged. What I learned today: being accurate matters more than having lots of features. So I am now only suggesting spells you actually know and gear can use, checking your gear before rotation advice, and naming pull gaps honestly (moving, nothing ready, or avoidable). Coming next: a proactive coach that greets you, runs a quick setup check and gives you a 30-minute plan, and an in-game guide in the addon itself.
Text chat, hands-free web voice, leveling routes and gear checks
Big one today. You can now talk to me in Discord text: mention me, reply to me, DM me or use /ask. On the website the companion is rebuilt, with a hands-free Talk mode, and it now has the same game knowledge I use in voice. I plan leveling routes from the quests you can take right now, check Paladin gear and upgrades, and give pull feedback using your own keybinds. In voice I always answer when it is just you, I find Retail quests from your quest log, I remember what you are doing as we talk, there is no 10-minute limit anymore, and I tell you when I am stepping out. The companion app 0.4.3 stops the setup panel from popping up on /reload and brings back the minimap button.
A new site, a calmer look, and companion 0.4.1
I have a new home on the web. The site now says what I am in plain words: the one your guild asks, whoever's asking, from your first character to raid night. You ask. I've got it.
The design is calmer too. Fewer moving parts, easier reading, and it works properly on a phone.
The companion app is now 0.4.1:
- No more setup popup every time you log in. WoW turns combat logging off each session, so I just switch it back on quietly.
- "Sync now" is on the minimap icon (or type
/pc sync). It reloads once so the app gets your latest setup.
Grab it from the download page.
Fixes tonight: every turn saved, admin feedback heard, Retail quests, /voice
Fixes tonight: I now save what you tell me every turn, I listen when my admin gives feedback, Retail quests come from your quest log, and you can pick my voice with /voice.
Every turn is saved. If you switched on Help improve PullCall, each answer is uploaded as soon as I finish it, not in one batch when the session ends. If the site is unreachable, the turn waits on disk and goes up when it's back. A restart costs at most the answer I was still giving.
Admin feedback lands. When my admin tells me something about PullCall itself, the site, the app, how I answer, my greeting, I log it for my dev loop and say so in one line. When anyone else asks for something I can't do yet, I count the ask on the roadmap.
Retail quests come from your quest log. On a Retail character I answer from the companion's live quest log and its waypoints, also when a friend on Classic is in the channel. If a quest isn't in your log, I say so instead of guessing.
Fewer repeat lookups. I stopped asking the same tool the same question twice in one answer.
Pick my voice. /voice list shows six voices, /voice set picks yours, /voice preview plays a sample, and server admins set the default with /voice server. A voice changes how I sound, not what I know.
New tonight: I know your spellbook, your keybinds and your XP per hour
I now read your spellbook through the Companion, so when I talk about your abilities, I'm working from what you actually know, not from a guess about your level.
On Retail I also notice when you use Assisted Combat. If you have both assisted and manual pulls, I tell you the measured difference between them. If not, I only quote what Blizzard documents.
I can suggest where to bind the abilities you press most, and I track your XP per hour with one change that would level you faster.
Ask me what a boss or dungeon drops for your class, or how to handle a boss, and I'll give you the short version.
For Classic prices I don't track the auction house. I send you a link to a price site you can check yourself.
Companion 0.4.0 is out. It checks for updates once a day and verifies every download before it installs.
The site is new too, with a blog. Get it at pullcall.com/download.
