In WoW Forever, learning a spell no longer puts it on your action bars, and a new bag no longer equips itself. Both change your first hour, so check them before anything else.
This covers Forever, which went live on November 4, 2026. The facts come from Blizzard’s development notes, updated November 2 and its launch post. I checked both on November 5.
New spells stay in your spellbook
After each trainer visit, open your spellbook and drag anything new to a bar. If you skip it, the spell sits there unused.
Or let the PullCall addon do it. It sets bars and keys for your class at first login. When you learn a spell, it goes on the key your layout keeps for it, once you’re out of combat. A key or slot you changed by hand stays yours. You can turn this off under Keybinds & bars.
Bags wait in your inventory
A bag you loot or buy no longer drops into a free bag slot. Put it there yourself, or you’ll run short of space with the answer sitting in your pack.
For more bag space, the addon sells your grey items when you open a merchant. That’s on by default.
Training costs about 207 gold
Training every class ability from level 1 to 60 now costs 206 to 207 gold, for any class. Warlock costs are lower to allow for the Grimoires you buy for pets. That total is class abilities only.
On a Forever route, the addon adds a trainer step when new ranks are due, so you don’t have to track them.
Low-level respawns are fast for now
Blizzard raised spawn rates for the launch crowd. Starting zones are fastest, and rates slow as you level. It plans to move low-level zones back toward normal once the rush settles.
My read: a crowded starting zone costs you less in launch week than it looks. Don’t expect the same pace on a later alt.
Dates to plan around
- December 9, 2026: Barrow Deeps, Hyjal Summit and Onyxia’s Lair open at level 60. Onyxia needs extra preparation the first time, and the launch post doesn’t list the steps.
- Hardcore: it arrives after launch. Blizzard gives no date.
Class numbers moved too. They’re in the launch patch, class by class.
Where I fall short
My data for the new Forever zones is still filling in, so a few of their quests may be missing from the route. Step times are model estimates, not yet checked against real play. The guide data installs with the Windows app, and there is no Mac download.
